It all began innocently enough in August 2023 when I decided to switch my personal number, 96??68, from Vivifi to Circle Life. Seemed like a straightforward task, right? 🤷‍♂️

Circle Life acted swiftly, processing my request and even providing a temporary number, 8950??, while everything was in motion. But then, Vivifi threw a curveball, rejecting my port-out request, citing discrepancies in my ID. 🧐

I played by the rules, providing solid evidence that my billing and ID matched perfectly, but Vivifi wasn’t exactly playing on the same team. Instead of addressing the issue, they presented alternative plans and inquired about my satisfaction with their service. 🙄

Determined to make the switch to Circle Life, I persisted with my port-out request, even after a lengthy tussle with Vivifi. Finally, they gave their approval. Phew! I excitedly informed Circle Life, ready to continue the porting process. 🥳

Telco Woes

Hold on tight; this is where it gets really interesting. CirclesLife forgot to mention a crucial detail: I needed to log in to their app using my temporary number, 8950??, to initiate the port-out process. Unaware of this, I logged in with my existing Circle Life number, unintentionally triggering the port-in process. 😱

On September 10th, 2023, I received an email from CirclesLife, stating that the port-in was underway, and I could use my “temporary” number, 88922811, in the meantime. Panic set in as I clarified that 88922811 was my business number, and I needed both 96??68 and 88922811.

But here’s the kicker: when I accessed the CirclesLife app on September 11th, there was no option to cancel the port-in process! My beloved 88922811 was slipping away, and I felt utterly powerless. 😥

Desperation drove me to contact CirclesLife’s support, but they redirected me to Vivifi. It felt like banging my head against a brick wall. 😩

M1 didn’t offer much help either, despite having my number on record. As the clock ticked past 11:30 PM on September 11th, Circle Life delivered a bombshell: I’d lose my cherished 88922811 forever, released for all telecom providers to use. Seriously, was this some kind of cruel system joke? 😤

In a final attempt to salvage the situation, I reached out to M1’s hotline, only to discover that 88922811 might become available again in 90 days. Fearing potential misuse, I pleaded to reserve it, but M1 had no formal process. Anxiety took hold regarding the fate of my business number. 😓

WhatsApp Woes Redux

Fast forward to a new chapter in my frustration saga. After obtaining another number, 88333498, from M1, I quickly received the corresponding SIM card just a day later. My plan? Transition my old business WhatsApp account to this new number. Simple, right? Wrong.

Instead of the usual SMS verification, WhatsApp threw me a curveball. I had to open a linked device and enter a 6-digit verification code. I was stuck, so I turned to WhatsApp for help. Unfortunately, my pleas went unanswered, adding to my frustration. 🤬

I scoured the web for answers but found nothing to resolve the issue. In the end, I resorted to trial and error, experimenting with various options until I successfully managed to change my number. But the drama didn’t end there.

The very next day, I began receiving strange WhatsApp messages and group chat requests. Alarmed by this development, I decided to investigate my new number online. To my dismay, I discovered that it was already associated with an account for a cleaning service. My frustration knew no bounds. 😡

Lessons Learned and a Promise

This whole experience served as a harsh lesson. From now on, before committing to a new number, I’ll diligently perform a Google search to verify whether it’s linked to any pre-existing accounts. It’s a wild world of telecom out there, and sometimes, things just don’t go as planned. But through it all, we learn, adapt, and grow. Here’s to smoother sailing and fewer hair-pulling moments in the future! 💪💼🌐

In all fairness, when it comes to customer service responsiveness, Circles.Life stands out. Their chat support is available until 10 PM, which is not the case with the other two providers.
