Malaysia Singapore High Speed Rail and Rapid Transit System projects to proceed
Malaysia Johor; On September 11, 2015, Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin has commented that Malaysian government will continue with the plans for the High Speed Rail (HSR) project and the Malaysia-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) with the intention that the projects will benefit the people and both countries in the future according to TheEdgeProperty.
As previously discussed, Malaysia-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) is expected to provide solutions for traffic congestion between Malaysia and Singapore, especially at the Johor – Woodlands Causeway and Gelang Patah-Tuas while the High-Speed Rail (HSR) could reduce travelling time between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore to 90 minutes from the present eight hours by train.
The High Speed Rail serves as an alternative mode of public transport travel between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. The High Speed Rail is seen to be in line with the transformation of the nation as it links 2 urban agglomerations to meet growing demand, catalyzing economic growth and enhancing long term economic competitiveness while improving the quality of life of its people. The High Speed Rail will connect 5 cities in Malaysia to Singapore, following a coastal route. It was also announced earlier this year that the new Jurong East HSR terminus will be sited where the Jurong Country Club is now located in Singapore. The plot is near Science Centre Road, and less than 1km from the Jurong East MRT station.
Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin also said that Malaysia-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) project will begins first as compare to High-Speed Rail (HSR) project which is indicated to be completed in 2025.
On the very same day, Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said that Bukit Chagar had been identified as the terminal station location for the Rapid Transit System (RTS) from Singapore by both the federal and state governments of Malaysia according to therakyatpost.
He has also added that Malaysia-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS), which will connect Johor Baru city centre to Singapore’s Republic Polytechnic in Woodlands is expected to be operational by 2019.
Development like R&F Princess Cove which is located at the Tanjung Puteri at the coastal region near the CIQ will be one of the few project that will be benefited from the Malaysia-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS).
And surely The Colony by Infinitum in Kuala Lumpur or Lakeville @ Jurong in Singapore will truly be benefited from the High-Speed Rail (HSR) project.
